Great Basic Phone

by Andy on Aug 22nd, 2004 at 1:01 PM:

I've had this phone for about a year, and have been extremely happy with it. The reception is great, and I've been able to get signal in many situations where other people with AT&T GSM service have not. The phone is also smaller than almost anything else out on the market.

If you're looking for a simple phone (no camera, no color, etc.) you should be happy with this guy.

The only sour point is that, for the most point, the included ring tones are garbage. There's a couple that are manageable if you're not that picky.

Simplistic and reliable!

I have had my C56 for almost 1 year now, and THAT is a record for me. It has great signal reception, wonderful clarity and is very light. I can toss it into my pocket without feeling overburdened with gadgets. For a no frills phone, it is probably the best that I have had (past phones: t68i, Sprint LG flip, samsung 3500). I give it an 8 for a few minor quirks. The keypad can be very sensitive, and if you do not use the keypad lock (which I quite often forget), you could be dialing friends without even knowing it. The included headset is adequate, but not spectacular. This phone does not have IR nor bluetooth, but again, its a very no frills phone, and different than the gaudy Nokias that are coming out these days.
