I've had this drive for a few weeks now, bought it from Best Buy for $300. This drive has spit out disks that play flawlessly on my home theater dvd player. I give it a 9 because I've only burned about 5 discs with it so far.
With a Dell laptop it takes about 25 mins. to burn a disc when you use the firewire connection, and about 90 mins. when you use the USB 2.0 connection. I haven't tried the software that comes with the burner. There is probably a faster DVD burn software out there then the one I use, but hey, the drive works well and that what I'm reviewing.
