Big Disappointment
by Argitalhk on Oct 19th, 2009 at 12:17 PM:
So, I've had a Toshiba Satellite M300 for a year already. Bought it in Hong Kong and since I bought it, not only have I had to replace the hard disk twice, and the battery once, but I had to wait for each piece to arrive for months because when I bought it they forgot to tell me this was as Asian model which is not sold in the rest of the world. So, having a laptop for a year and being able to use it for a couple of months only, it is a bit annoying.
Now that I finally managed to make it work, it's fine. Though I would recommend to install Windows XP as it will work much quicker. Sound and graphics are really good. USB plugs are very useful and size is just perfect for students.
Good laptop for the price.

Not the best

The M300 I have feels like it's built cheap. The cover for the PCMCIA slot fell out and was lost within 6 months. The integrated web camera stopped working and I can't find out why... and now I'm learning that an e-SATA cable simply won't feed into the port... driving me nuts!
They seem to have gotten it wrong on this model - I'd recommend sticking with Tosh but don't buy this specific line.
