Great for 1 Year

I'll back-up what Ron said. I loved the receiver for the first year. Now it's having HMDI problems. It seems the HDMI 1.3a repeater in this receiver is junk and prone to failing.
I love the features in the new 607, but I'm afraid to get it since I don't know if the HDMI issue has been resolved.
HDMI problems after a year

Loved the 606 for it's first year. Then HDMI problems occurred. Losing signal/dropping signal. Went through a long series of tracking and it is in the 606 versus other components or cables. All cables replaced.
Looks like there are a number of threads on the net regarding HDMI ports failing after time.
Can't find any help from ONKYO.

Hooked up to a XBOX 360, Digital Cable and BlueRay DVD. All HDMI at 720p, and all are working/switching perfectly. No humming or other line noise. Have the receiver running out to a Gefen splitter and sending signal to both a Toshiba HDTV and a Mitsubishi projector. Works great and the sound is unbelievable. MUCH better than my Yamaha receiver, which was very good in and of itself. Highly recommend.

I had a hard time to decide upon a Bose amp and an Onkyo amp. Finally I decided that I would go with the Onkyo amp thinking about its price and as well as the features that were provided. So far I have not regretted my decision.
