Expensive But Worth The Price
by Bob S on Jan 5th, 2009 at 12:15 PM:
This set replaced a 20" Trinitron CRT. It is our third HD tv and the other two are both Hitachi plasmas. The Sony is hooked up to both a HD cable box via HDMI and antenna. The 32" size was the largest that would fit where it needed to go.
Compared to our other sets, this model took much less time for tweaking the picture to get it to the best of which the TV was capable.
This set has excellent contrast, black levels and colors look quite natural on it. Contrast and black levels is better than either of our plasma sets. It also seems to resolve more color shadings correctly as color fades do not appear to be stepped.
Sharpness is wonderful with either cable or antenna input. Picture from antenna is slightly sharper because of less signal compression. This set also does an excellent job of upconverting standard definition signals. While most of what we watch is HD, there is still enough programming not available in HD that upconverting quality will continue to be important.
The S-force front surround provides some extra spaciousness to the sound, but does not seem to offer the spaciousness of some other TVs with a similar feature. Still for their small size the built in speakers have reasonable sound.
Cost on this model is high compared to many others on the market, but the excellent picture quality makes it worth the added expense. The viewer will be enjoying the great picture quality long after they forget what price they paid.
Don't Miss this One

I've owned lots of tv's but this one is for its size a total package, color, clarity, and if your setting very close to the set you can't beat the picture. Don't bother with 750 go for the 1080 as a online gamer its the best, was gonna go samsung but Sony did a hands down better job.
Meets or exceeds most expectations

This was our first Sony TV purchase since a 19" Trinitron in the early 80's. We've had it for a month. Now, as then, Sony meets or exceeds most expectations and is relatively more expensive. Some websites say it has a headphone jack. It doesn't. The first button we push on the remote after powering up is the theater button. The default setting is very bright and may have been designed for a sun-drenched room. We connected it to a PS3 via HDMI and may have expected a more functionality from the supplied TV remote; we had to get a PS3 remote. Over the air 1080p seems more detailed than 1080p DVDs, but we found this to be true on other TVs. We trust Sony's reputation and are happy with our decision.

Standing in the store this TV was nearly night and day with other products.
Everyone who sees ours says they wish theirs looked like ours.
Don't waste your cash else where, spend the extra on this Sony.
