Good but...

by Everardo on Jun 9th, 2008 at 5:19 PM:

I bought this PC months ago, it was running ok, until i disable the tlb patch, now its running GREAT, disable that thing in order to get the full power of its processor.

Just got it!

Running the FX7020 with a Westinghouse 24-inch monitor and it looks and works great. Had to figure out how to hook up the monitor. The standard VGA plug is covered with crime tape, so don't use it. Check the accessories box for the adaptor and plug it into the lower digital output.

I saw the note below on WOW: with Windows Vista, you have to run WOW through Administrator mode. Right click on the WOW icon and set it to Administrator. Should have no problems after that, except, if you need WOW patches, get ready to wait for awhile. The WOW site is slow.

It's so quiet; you can't tell if it's crunching anything. That can be good or bad- no way to tell except for an hourglass or an ear to the HD whether the thing is working on something.

Haven't messed with all the bells and whistles yet, but the FX7020 is a good box, especially for about a grand.

Awsome computer

by Ein on Feb 26th, 2008 at 11:56 AM:

This computer is awesome! Though if you're an extremely hardcore gamer looking for the best for the buck, the Fx7024 is a better choice. However if you're a casual/hardcore mix looking for the best for the buck, and like a little extra on the side (cough cough, online and live TV with windows media center + more), then this is the computer for you. I installed WoW, Burning Crusade, Gta San Andreas, in record time. I also pumped up the settings to high, and they ran smooth.

Smart gamer

I love this machine! I spent countless hours agonizing over building my own rig or purchasing an off the shelf model. Of course, one must decide what type of gamer they are (extreme vs. enthusiast).

I opted for the Gateway FX7020 with an AMD 64 Phenom Quad processor, along with the Nvidia 8800GT graphics card.

For the gaming enthusiast, it is MORE than enough to handle games like F.E.A.R and Halflife2. It is whisper quiet and handles like a Ferrari.

Two thumbs up. Way up!

Excellent HD graphics and performance

by Ron on Feb 6th, 2008 at 11:01 AM:

I setup the computer with an HD cable for my HD monitor and installed World of Warcraft and the Burning Crusade is record time. I set all the graphic settings on high and set my sound to surround 5.1. Incredible. No lag and the best graphics ever. Ron.
