Taking mine back
by Jeff on Sep 28th, 2007 at 10:56 AM:
I bought my 220 the other day after seeing pictures and knowing how well tube amps can sound. Unfortunately, this one is all show and no go.

I really like it.

The sound is great, no problems there. It is not going to shake your house and you probably shouldn't expect it to. It is plenty loud and doesn't distort. I am a fan of 60s music and I like what I hear nice and warm.
The volume knob is a little confusing when used in conjunction with the remote. It doesn't turn with the remote, so it is more like operating the volume on the ipod. It just dials around and around until you are either at max or min volume kind of odd.
My only other problem is that I wish that the ipod sat a little more snuggly. You should really put your hand on it (fingers behind the ipod) like you are holding it and accessing its functions when not in the unit, otherwise it seems to have a bit too much play in the holder using the correct ipod adapter does alleviate this a bit I just discovered.
Anyway, for the price I am very happy.
