Decent system for $560
by Ajones on Oct 22nd, 2007 at 5:44 PM:
For an off the shelf system this one met my needs. I upgraded the PSU to support a high end graphics card (8800gts) and the result has met my expectations.
So far, so good

I have had this system about a week, now. In the first few days, I found a hardware conflict with a purchased HP F4180 printer/scanner. I got the blue sceen of death. The problem was quickly resolved by Circuit City Fire Dog techs. I am still manuevering through the new Vista operating system. I would probably enjoy my new system even more, if I could understand Vista, completely. I have had great reliability with HP products before and hope the a6130n matches previous products. I look forward to buying an external hard drive, to prevent the loss of files and expanding the second drive. There are many great features on this unit.
Customer service is problematic
by Kris on Aug 8th, 2007 at 2:32 PM:
Personally, I won't be buying HP again. Not the computer necessarily, but when we did have an issue with the hard drive (within the first year and after only about 3 months of real use), it was extremely frustrating trying to get anywhere with HP tech support. I'd spoken to approx 7/8 different techs, none of whom seemed to want to listen to what I was telling them about the problem (but then they probably couldn't understand me any better than I could understand them).
Just Shy of a Gaming Box

HP appears to have done their homework- they listened to what people want (with reasonable constraints) and reflect they are aware of the difficulties the nForce 430 chipset has with mixtures of USB 1 and 2, which is likely why they retained bringing keyboard and mouse in on PS/2. This is one of the few production offerings that will run Vista as fast as legacy machines will run XP. Throw a hundred dollar video card in it and you've got a decent upper mid range gaming machine. Take a good look at it in comparison to the competition. It reflects a fairly high value quotient, but try to keep your USB devices exclusively USB 2.0 to avoid the woes of the nForce 430 chipset.

Great for the price
by Paul Thornhill on Apr 20th, 2008 at 10:04 PM:
Also the price per gig of the HP Pocket drives are way out there.A usb external 320gb is about the same price as a 120 gig pocket drive.and you don't have to worry if the other machine is so equiped. So I think it's a waste of a bay.Would have been much better to spend the cost of this drive bay to include hd ready video.
