My Camera never worked - refund refused by Linksys

by Bob Tomlinson on Aug 5th, 2007 at 3:20 PM:

I made the mistake of buying my camera in the USA - I live in the UK. Whilst it worked when wired to my PC I never suceeded in getting a picture wirelessly over my network. I tried to get support from Linksys and was told that in the UK our networks are different to those in the States and perhaps this was reason! I tried to return the product and obtain a refund but I was told that this would not be possible as I lived outside the USA. I complained and my emails went unanswered

Ok for the money

I have my webcam mounted outside under and eave and the glare is really bad., however, I downloaded their latest firmware 2.13 and it greatly improves the glare problem.

Under image setup I use manual setting #9 and it works pretty well. I have to admit I have taped on a pair of sunglasses in front of the web cam and it works even better.

How can Linksys sell this product?

The image quaity is terrible, company like Linksys should not market it, big disappointment, hope the user's reviews get to the company.

Extremely Limited

by Paul Holli on May 7th, 2004 at 1:56 PM:

The camera will work ONLY in moderately illuminated indoor rooms. Don't even think about pointing it outdoors toward sunlight (all you'll get is a white screen with no ability to adjust or darken the image). I've used many Linksys networking products and am in disbelief that Linksys would put something with such poor performance in the market place. The picture quality is mediocre (at best), and then only if the lighting is perfect. D-Link and others offer a far superior quality picture for about the same price. This product is nearly useless (or barely useful) as a practical option. I still like Linksys for low cost routers and switches though.

only works indoor or minimal light

Basically, the video camera is only designed for small home/office network.
It will not work very good at all viewing outside video, because its not a high end camera.
The brightness adjustment you can set it to auto focus or set it manually.
You can only adjust the lens of the device if you have a blurred vision.
