Great for business

by Greg on Nov 27th, 2007 at 10:26 AM:

I have picked one up yesterday and I can't believe how nice it really is. I always wanted to have a tablet but they have always been out of my price range I picked this one up it's not bad for the money. Battery life is good my last 14.1Â'Â' gateway something basic with AMD dual core I could go for just over 4 hours this thing being a tablet still cranks out just under 4 (3:55) hours its nice. Processor is definitely not the fastest but fine. Windows experience at 4.3 the hp tablet does 4.7 but the reason I like gateway is they have parts that are cheaper and readily available. Not that anything ever broke on my other gateways. If you are intending to use it for business it's great. I also think that the top cover is made of aluminum but not sure be care full when you turn the screen not to dent and scratch the speakers. All tablets have that. The portrait screen mode is most useful since you can see the entire page.

Great computer

I got this computer a week ago, had Vista instead of XP, and so far no regrets. Integrates seamlessly with my current home wireless network and work network. The writing recognition is great, the screen feels great when using it in tablet form. The upper left hand corner of the computer is the only place that gets warm, but IÂ've used it on my lap for extended time. I now wonder how I ever worked with a laptop without a touchscreen. The entire computer has lived up to what I expected, and would recommend it to anyone who not a gamer, or using a heavy graphics software. I use mine primarily for writing, and internet, some excel and office and it works great.

Nice computer

I have the business model, same computer with XP instead of Vista. The screen is fantastic, does everything I want it to do. This model comes with the touch screen and digitizer pen, so both techniques can be employed to get things done while in tablet mode. It worked flawlessly, handwriting recognition performs beyond expectations.

I received the computer on Thursday, and the following Monday the screen went blank. Using an ext. monitor I found the screen showed nothing, but the digitizer pen would still function. Of course I couldn't use it that way, so I called Gateway, who reluctantly paid to have it shipped to their repair facility.

It is a nice computer. Uses XP tablet version, which is XP pro with touch/digitizer screen software, so you get full computer functionality.

I liked the functionality so much I decided to give it a shot rather than get a refund.
