Great

by steve on Jun 24th, 2007 at 6:32 PM:

Running Vista Ultimate 32-bit 2gb mem & 4gb sd card (ready boost) + adjust battery high perf mode. rediculous number of apps running simultaneously with great response. love the laptop. Only gripe is that there is no pcmcia, only expresscard (conspiracy).

SUCKS

by Thomas Ford on Jun 8th, 2007 at 10:28 PM:

I got one about 7 or 8 months ago and it has sucked from the day i got it. Low battery life, crashes, slow, spots on screen, and much more. It has taken this long for HP to do something about it. I have been calling them from the day I got it and complaining at them but nothing for 7 or 8 months.

Love the Look

Personally I think this is a great looking laptop, HP has really upped the bar for their systems. The dv9000z looks great and is very quick. I think it's wonderful that you have the option of either AMD or Intel processors and an HD DVD drive.

Good Performer - Good bang for your $

by Ward Paterson on Feb 24th, 2007 at 6:45 PM:

I opted for the DV9005TX model with T7200 CPU and 2gb of RAM. This laptop is a good performer for the price and current HW demands. I play BF 2142 on medium settings, no AA or lighting effects, and at 1440x900 res and it works beautifully. The Geforce GO 7600 is also highly overclockable from the stock settings.

dv9000 fingerprint problems

by Ron on Feb 24th, 2007 at 7:56 AM:

I have found a way to greatly decrease the fingerprint problem. Use a good carnuba based automotive wax for the lid and silver palms rest areas. It cuts down on the finger prints by 95%.
