Big Money Small Performance

by Terrence C. Harp on Sep 17th, 2009 at 4:24 PM:

User Score: 2.png This monitor costs an awful lot but it worked only for a while. All the while generating huge heat, and then finally, when the guarantee is no longer good, it just shuts down. No picture, no menu, nothing except the lit up controls. Gateway offers no help what-so-ever. I'm not impressed.

Never recomended

User Score: 2.png This monitor would be the worst thing you can get in life, even though other monitors fail normally on power supplies, capacitors, voltage regulators, I mean discrete components which are comprehensive issues in electronics, this monitor crashes you on the main video processor board mostly on the chip: FLI5962H which is the LCD controller, a big piece of Taiwan heatness chip. Then nothing to do but wait until someone else has this board in good condition to replace it.

User Score: 4.png After 2.5 years, DEAD! I have had problems with it for the last 6 months. It has a mind of it's own. I will never buy another EZTouch!

Died after 17 months

by Ken F on Mar 13th, 2009 at 12:30 PM:

User Score: 2.png My monitor stopped working after 17 months. The Gateway free support is completely unhelpful when out of warranty. I did a search and it seems like Gateway monitors have a high failure rate. See http://gatewaymonitors.blogspot.com/ Also Gateway stops even tracking failures after 12 months.

Nearly perfect--watch out because you could lose button control

by Ron R on Nov 30th, 2008 at 12:13 AM:

User Score: 10.png I had a problem with the monitor losing a fraction of display at the bottom of screen until I eventually realized that I needed to keep the monitor setting at "automatic."

For a while I thought it was in the PC video chip, since I could tweak its settings and get full display that way. Pesky annoyance every time I turned on the monitor.

Now, no problem, after I learned not to accidentally brush the sensor buttons and cause lost "automatic."

The monitor is otherwise perfect. I have used it for more than a year.
