Probably the best phone I ever had

by Alex on Aug 29th, 2007 at 9:58 AM:

Ok so I bought this phone when it first came out (three days after shipped to store) in 2005 and it was great. I never had any charging problems and had Motorola's original software (not that Verizon one nowadays). I never had any charging problem until about february 2007 (and have since purchased a different phone). I'm not sure if it was part of an update at the time or what, but those who give it bad reviews just got it at the wrong time I think. I still wish they made the same phone in slim form and that it was one of the best to come out for Verizon.

Piece of CRAP

Get the lg uv9400 GREAT phone

Horrible software/design

by Sam on May 8th, 2007 at 8:41 PM:

I didn't have the charging problems the others have had; my problem is with the whole design. I constantly turn the ringer volume off on accident with a slight bump of the side buttons, or vice versa (nothing like 'One bourbon, One scotch, One beer' ring tone accidentally going off in church).

Also, the phone book is terrible. You can't combine multiple phone numbers under one name. I have friends/family with home, work, and cell numbers that all have to have separate entries rather than being combined into one phone book entry. Also, the other side button turns the camera on when bumped, especially when attached to a belt. I don't know how many pictures of my seat belt button I have. Another phone book problem: only three entries are visible on screen at one time. Better software design could easily have allowed six or seven visible entries at a time. Just don't buy this phone. It's terrible.

gets the job done

I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one who has had these charging problems...75% of the time the phone charges fine, but then there are those times when plugging the phone in either gives you the 'unable to charge' message, or causes the phone to freeze up & reset itself. Taking the battery out for a few minutes usually resolves the issue, but still this is something Motorola should work on - and as someone mentioned in another review this is not a problem unique to the e815, my t730 did the exact same thing.

love it

this is a company phone but if they let me go tomorrow i would buy another one. i was able to e-mail a pic from fla to canade with no problem. the only problem is the charger connection. it has to be just right or it won't recognize it is pluged in.
