Easy to use

I got my 2nd gen shuffle a few months ago and have had no problems. It is so easy to use even a caveman could do it.

Disappointing

by Roger Sharp on Jan 21st, 2008 at 10:12 AM:

I just received one of these as an unexpected gift. I did not open it or try it as I suspected it would not be useful. Based on reading many reviews and the technical specifications, I have decided to return it. My phone is a better option.

It is always with me, so I have one device instead of two.

It has a screen so I can select the track that I want.

I can couple the phone to the car stereo. I could not do this with the Shuffle.

I can charge the phone from the car cradle or household current--do not need a computer. And, I have two batteries for the phone

I can easily change the flash memory card in the phone

Am I missing something?

Nice appearance but deceiving

After about 10 hours of use it does not work anymore. I may have spend 15 hours trying to fix it. I reloaded the software many times. The online apple store is now asking for my credit card number to service it under warranty. This is like most electronic: you are throwing money to garbage.

Terrible hardware quality

by Mike McMahon on Dec 5th, 2007 at 2:41 PM:

I love this little guy but am on my 4th one (all 2nd gen) in 7 months. I use it for running (usually 40-50 minute runs) and am very careful with it. The most accumulated time that I have gotten is 10 hours. They have failed for a variety of reasons, the last one being that the battery would not hold a charge overnight. Apple has replaced each failed unit at no cost to me.

Excellent for its purpose

The IPod shuffle is excellent because of its easy-ness to use and its ability to hold 1GB. The shuffle is perfect for exercising and walking to school, work etc. The only negative is that it has no FM radio.

If you want an mp3 player for simple use, the IPod shuffle is the choice for most.
