I have the 8g nano

I love it! It was $250, and I knew I could have spent the same amount on buying a iPod 30g, but i love how compact the nano is. It may be easier to lose, but its a lot easier to slip in your pocket than that of a video iPod!
Battery life is also very impressive for the small thing. The other thing that I dont like about the video iPods is how much they weigh, its great, I love the little thing and the fact that itll hold 2000 songs!
Fabulous!

I had until recently, the 1st gen nano. I was happy with this, apart from how easy it was to scratch, and how uncomfortable the headphones were (I bought a different pair). I recently got given the 2nd gen as a gift, which seems to solve all the problems of the first one. I have had the nano for about a month now, and despite it living in the bottom of my wet sailing bag for a couple of days, and staying in my pocket with keys etc, it still hasn't scratched! The headphones are also a heck of a lot more comfortable, and they have a small amount of rubbery stuff on the outside, which also helps them stay in your ear! Bonus!
It even went through the wash at one point, and survived!
I just left it by a sunny window for a day, re-charged it, and it was as good as new!
Now, i'm not recommending that you put it through the wash, but I definately recommend that you buy a new nano!
And to the guy who was complaining about windows media not working with the nano, what do you expect, its an apple product!
Nice Piece of Work

I bought the 2gb silver iPod nano 2generation about 3months ago no problems so far love the device use it almost daily
I am going to get the 8gb black one soon cos I love the iPod nano so much
I would recommend getting a case though because it is easy to scratch
I would also recommend getting the DOCK, I did and I love it, get some AV cables and plug them into your stereo, TV, etc and listen to your iPod through those speakers
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a stylish, practical and all fantastic Mp3 player
=D =) =D =)

Although I agree that it is a pain that you have to buy something in order to utilize the voice recorder option on the new nano it is very important that you understand the importance of wording. "Supports voice recording" is entirely different than stating the product is in addition to a music player, a voice recorder. The strategic use of the word supports implies that the unit is capable of the function. As amusing as your shoes analogy was, it was a poor example as your shoes only support the ability to go view a movie. No added device enables your shoes to allow you to view the movie on it. Overall, the 2nd gen nano is a better product than the 1st gen. As with any product there is always something that could be better. Being a major marketing executive for a fortune 500 company I can assure you that there will never be a 100% "perfect" product or businesses would never have anything to leave consumers like yourself something to look forward to in future versions.
