You can do a lot better with a white box system. And you would not be stuck with Intel. You could use a more powerful and cheaper AMD Processor.

coming from gateway, this machine actually looks pretty decent (hardware and asthetically).
I still wouldn't buy one though.

As far as premade systems go, the 700XL rocks. The 2 18" LCD monitors are sweet looking and perfect for those with a lot of work on their desktop. The case is huge though....overall a killer system.

We tested the loaded 700XL for two full months as an off-the-shelf DV editor and we were very impressed with the systems performance and the AAA quality of design and manufacture. The dual 250 MB SATA RAID Hard Drives are a class touch any pro DV editor would wish for.
Gateway out classes Dell or Sony with this level of machine. Neither of the former mentioned have anything to come close.
