NEXTEL is absolutley the worst
by kara on Mar 4th, 2007 at 9:39 PM:
I have had two nextel phones in the past year..and i850 and an i870..my i 850 was way better than the i870, it had lasting battery life, thats about it..the 870 is the worst its very difficult to figure out how to put music on the mp3 player, i've had it for 10months now and still cant figure it out, pictures; awful...only good thing about it is blue tooth. when using three way u cant end the third party call without hanging up on everyone, u never have service..it'll be four bars then none...i must say i will never buy another phone unless..its free of course..

My nextel dealer is the greatest...she has replaced my I 870 three times for shutting itself off. I will be going back tomorrow as now the time/date on front face has locked up. I am going to see about a different model phone..enough is enough. If this is the best Motorola can do they should get out of the phone business.

Nextel continues to amaze

I didn't know it was possible for Nextel phones to get any worse. Since the falcon series phones were released in 2004 each model phone they have released has performed worse. The i870 definitely takes the cake. From what I've found he's my feedback:
Pro's: none
Con's: size - excessively large and heavy for today's day and age
call quality - sound quality is typically bad for nextel, signal cuts in and out standing still. still waiting for the vocode update from '04 that never happened. This phone regularly turns itself off or reboots for no apparent reason multiple times during a call. Don't even bother trying to place or receive a call while the charger is plugged in, you are almost quaranteed to receive an invalid batter msg with reset. You also need to keep checking the phone to see if it's still on, the phone turns off without notice on a regular basis whether the battery is fully charged or not. Camera-don't bother, worst camera I've seen on a cell phone, pictures are grainy if the subject is more than 1 ft (yes 12 inches) away. Signal - Nextels service has become progressively worse in the lower NY area since the Sprint merger (don't know if it's related), DC and phone service not available more often then ever before. Battery life - just as bad as every other Nextel. MP3 player/bluetooth/etc - haven't bothered yet, can't imagine they're any better than anything else on the phone. I think i'll place the memory card it come's with in my head programming it to remind me to never buy another nextel/sprint product.
The price tag is ridiculous, you need to renew for 2 years to get below $250, no phone nextel has made in the past five years lasts more than a year with standard use.
