INCREDIBLE VALUE AT UNDER $50

by Robert on Jan 24th, 2008 at 11:17 AM:

At full price, I'd still consider this a good radio. Now that it's under $50, it is the deal (or steal) of the century. Surprisingly rich, full-bodied sound...warm bass, not very deep but very noticeable...highs are crisp, overall the output is on the bright side, which I personally prefer. Unusual for this type of product is the inclusion of a tone control, albeit a single knob. I prefer separate bass and treble, however in keeping with the starkly elegant appearance of this radio; the single knob is adequate, and very functional. Aesthetically, the radio is beautiful. It's about the size of a small shoebox with a black high-gloss finish that borders on being sexy, and a black fabric speaker cover. There are only 3 knobs, each with a smooth, high-quality feel: tuning, volume, tone. The odd design feature is a lighted quartz-like thing, kind of trapezoids that serves as readout for the station ID and time. It's very bright, cannot be dimmed/turned off, and would be annoying in a bedroom. Other than that, this radio is highly recommended. I'm trying to convince myself that I need another one!
