Awesome!

This is a terrific laptop. I know about 6 other people who have purchased them, they all love them. Everybody who has seen it has been very impressed with it, too. It unfortunately suffered a hard drive failure within the first month of use (this was obviously Seagate's fault, not Apple's). I took it to the Apple Store and they were very helpful and had me back up and running in less than 3 days. Back up your data, people! This is my second hard drive failure, it can happen to you, too!
I do video editing, DVD authoring, and school work, and it handles them all like a champ. I'd recommend opting for larger hard drive, 60 GB is just not enough. I'm very impressed with the performance. I can now capture and edit video at the same time.
I also recommend not buying from MacMall, seeing as they screwed me for RAM. They gave me less than I paid for and then took forever to send me the right stuff. They were very frustrating and very hard to work with.
I have heard of some machines having trouble with random shutdowns. I have had no such issues. Apple has actually done 2 firmware updates since I bought the machine. It gives me great peace of mind to know that Apple is so concerned with making sure my machine performs as well as possible.
Tiger on the MacBook runs fast and is unbeatable at multi-tasking (I'm running 1.5 GB of RAM). A lot of times when I'm using PC laptops, I get that sluggish feeling, because laptop hard drives are a little bit slow. This laptop feels just as fast as a desktop (not sure if that's because it's a Mac, this is my first Mac laptop).
The good:
-perfect size
-study build
-slot combo/superdrive (contributes to the sturdy design, unique and looks good, too)
-very thin
-looks fantastic
-magnetic power (has saved the laptop from my dog several times already)
-camera
-gigabit ethernet (non-existant in these lower end machines)
-FireWire (very, very hard to find in lower end machines)
-all air vents through the back (very unique, and makes it look very clean)
-widescreen display
-very fast
The bad:
-no eSATA (but the gigabit ethernet might make up for that)
-no card slot (but you already have FireWire, wi-fi, bluetooth, and gigabit ethernet, so there's not much else you could possibly need)
-intel integrated graphics (fine for video, but no hardware anti-aliasing)
Conclusion:
Unless you're a serious gamer (and I'm not), this laptop is awesome. It's extremely fast and easy to use.
Don't wait for Vista (it might never actually come out), get the cool stuff today.
