Camera worked great ! untill...

I went to Zion national park. I took the camera out of the bag, removed the lens cap, turned it on and walah! NO VIDEO ... It was as if I had forgotton to remove the lens cap. The view finder and LCD screen only showed camera functions such as date,time,play, pause,record,battery power etc. The camera is about 2 years old and has less than 20 hours of use. The camera has never been dropped or exposed to the elements. The camera did record sound just no video.
