Turn on again..

Got the same message as my comrade in woes (above) and feel just as disappointed. Nothing makes it turn on any more. How Sony can get away with such a fatal, irksome glitch, I wonder! The worst is I bought in NY and live in Rio...Guess I'll have to TURN OFF Sony from my consumer life for good...

More of the same, had this camera about a year or so and now it won't turn on. Kept getting the message "turn off and turn on again"...repeating this exercise a few times would get it to work but now not at all. Also one of the hinges for the cover for the batteries broke off and now it's pretty much useless. Very Disappointed! Junk!
18 months; fast batt. consumption, now no start.

Excellent quality pictures. After about a year battery consumption increased greatly and now will not function at all. Very disappointing. No more SONY equipment for me.
I too have the same problem. It started 12 months after purchase.

At first it rectified itself after being turned on several times, but went through batteries fast. Now it attempts to start, it shows the 'access' message' then shuts off. It's a big surprise because the other Sony products we have are excellent.
