Casio sadness

by April on Apr 28th, 2008 at 1:00 PM:

I bought my casio Exilim S500 early in 2006 and just the other day (April 2008) while I was taking photos, the lens got stuck open and wouldn't retract. I can't even power on/off now... I get an error type sound! By reading the other reviews, I think I am going to skip the step where I waste my time sending it back to the service center OR trouble shooting where it went wrong and how can I get it fixed. A new camera is probably cheaper @ this point.

Lens is stuck....

Waste of money. It only worked for 4 months before the lense was stuck and the camera wouldn't go on or off!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!

No problems for me

I have had this camera for two or three years now I believe. I bought it when they first came out. It takes beautiful pictures, many of which I have placed on my website. The camera has never acted up or given me any problems. I have only good things to say about it. Seems like most of the people writing reviews have had problems. I have taken hundreds of pictures and had absolutely no problems. It has surpassed its warranty long ago and still works like a charm.

Casio EX-S500

I bought my camera Feb. 2006 and was learning how to use it and enjoying it until the lens got stuck in the out position. I finally got it to work by removing the battery and reinstalling it. Abter 1 month of working, it quit! I paid $40 for an offical casio battery and after recharging for 2 days, the lens is still stuck out and the camera does not work. I am going to call the company and research other cameras. This was an expensive lesson about casio cameras.

Lens error!

Extremely faulty lens...after much frustration with the lens getting 'stuck' it eventually came off completely and is now, obviously, utterly useless! not recommended.
