Very Cool!

I have had mine for around 4 months now. There was a period of getting used to it. I recommend updating the firmware as soon as you get it home - mine worked much better after that. The only downside is that once in a while, I have to reboot (unplug from the wall) the base station because the remote can't find it. Overall, I love it! I would recommend buying one. Be forewarned, this is not exactly for a luddite or a technophobe, you will have to play with it a bit.

too much time to setup

by Seamus on Sep 23rd, 2006 at 3:17 PM:

Bought the WACS700 in July and have spent weeks getting it to do what it says it will do. Even had difficulty finding the station at initial setup. connecting through the home network was a nightmare although I have finally cracked it. However there are still lots of problems. Occasionally it freezes and has to be rebooted. Sometimes the station cannot find the centre. Sometimes it wont connect to the PC. When transferring music wirelessly from the PC the operation is frequently interrupted by loss of connection. The buttons on either side of the screen are impossible to read and look like they were designed to light up but dont. The screen is too small as only 1 or 2 words of info on album/artist/track etc. can be seen at a time. the other thing that really bothers me is that if I had to return the goods there doesn't seem to be any way of saving all the music that has been recorded directly onto the centre. Generally I feel that like all new technology this piece of equipment has been released to the market much too early and the customer again suffers the frustration of working with an unfinished product. I am seriously thinking of returning it to the store!
