PQ, features and easy on the eyes

I agree with Dustin. This is not only an excellent performer but it just looks nice and has great sound.

I was the one who wanted an expensive TV upgrade...the wife was compliant but dubious. Now I can't get her away from it. WAF cannot be overestimated.

HDMI input has proven difficult to use thus far, apparently needing just the right player/equipment match. Tried it for TV through Comcast HD DVR but needed to use DVI-HDMI cable which gave issues. So then tried an upconverting player through straight HDMI connection and had PQ issues with macroblocking with shadow detail in low light scenes on some DVDs known for Dark content like The Forgotten and Dark City.

The 2 component inputs however yield superb PQ so I will try the Zenith DVB318 and try upconversion through component with the older firmware.

The Z42 has an accessible Service Menu and more features/inputs than the Panny PD50U which has the best PQ I have seen. This set comes very close however and will accept PC input. Have used the set going on two months now and have no regrets whatsoever.

Nice set, Nice price

Love it. Just like looking back at your new car after parking it I look at my wall to take a look at it just hanging there.
