the rio is so much better then the ipod. considering this has a voice recorder and a bigger harddrive for less money, this is definitly the one you should go with. Sound quality is amazing, the only problems i have had with it are the fact the it occasionally is slow to respond and that the sound couldnt be higher. Of course the high battery life makes up for this!!
RIO is a best buy, unfortunatly the company is gone due to its parent selling it out '-(

Beat the Mini hands down

I bought an iPod mini, and took it back the same day to get the Pearl. The Pearl is much more user friendly than the iPod, and you don't get screwed buying music that is not compatible with anything else the way you do with that stupid apple mpeg4 format.

VERY user friendly, I would highly recommend it.
