I've tried everything to get this thing to burn well. I've used the enclosed software, tried new software(Pinacle Studio 9), tried burning discs at a lower speed to prevent buffer overrun. I've found that if I want to burn a DVD I have to limit the DVD 20 minutes of video or do it without menus. Otherwise it locks up. I have a P4 w/512MB RAM. Well above the required hardware. In short it's junk. Sony lost my buisness.
