Great looking, nice interface, good features. Im on my 4th and so far I haven't had a chance to take it out of the house. The first 3 were bad out of the box. The retail store I got it from refuses to take the 4th back. The first had a bad drive, the second had a flickering creen, the third a bad hard drive (they may have slipped me my old one back). Now this one has a bad headphone jack and the left button barely works. These were all brand new out of unopened boxes (except the third, which had been opened). Apple is rude and accusatory on the phone. They outright called me a liar.
Special Gift Broken

We don't have a lot of money, but my husband really wanted an iPOD. So I got all of our friends and all of our family to give what they could and we bought him one for his birthday. Two months and one year later the hard drive is dead. He treated that thing like a baby, and apple doesn't care that they gave us a defective product. They just kept saying you had a year, like I waited to fix the problem after the warranty ran out instead of before. We cannot afford to repair it (another $260) or to get another one. It seems to happen to everyone we know, the iPOD breaks between the first and second year. $400 just wasted. Apple is never getting my business again.

I was able to save $50 when I bought my iPod at geeks.com online store.... this product is easy to use, the menu can easily be read, the capacity is great and I was able to use the excess capacity as a portable hard drive too.
buy it

this is the most incredibly simple mp3 player in the world.. a five year old could use it.. and a rock star could enjoy it.. it's for anyone who loves music.
