by sai on Nov 6th, 2004 at 4:36 PM:

does not work with cheaper media - which works in apple superdrive....pioneer?

also the specs page on this site talk about a headphone jack and thumbweel vol control which do not exist on the drive take a look at the picture on the specs page so the site's editors are full of shit when they talk about what an above average drive it is.....it isn't.

"Great buy and faster with +R discs"

by Dustin A on Sep 26th, 2003 at 4:48 PM:

I bought the 440N because it was one of the few others that could burn all 4 DVD types, I was pleased and have used both Roxio and DVD X Copy separately to make DVD's. I notice a significant speed difference when I stopped buying -R 's and tried +R's, much, much faster burns. A big thumbs up ! I have a Compaq Presario and it matched nicely (black).

TDK 440N buy it!!!!

This drive is great, i have tested the Memorex cd+/- R havnt tried the rw yet but out of 13 burns with + and - R i have not made one coaster yet, and price is great 199.00 @ Best buy great drive, quiet, fast, and dependable. Backs up dvd's with no problem using DVD X Copy, and using roxio cd creator 6 to back up computer, still no problems at all. Buy this drive, it is worth the money!!!!!

Very Compatable and Error Free Recording

I purchased the TDK dvd drive to replace a Toshiba DVD +R. I burned a home move off of my mini DV and it worked the first time and played in good quality on my theater dvd....however I could not burn from camera to dvd as the drive is not recognized in Roxio, which really slows down the process.
