Don't waste your time and money

I bought this computer back in 2004 for school. For the first six months this computer was great, no problems. Soon after that it would break down all the time. If I use it longer than a couple hours it would shut it self down and refuse to turn on again. I've lost thousands of songs and reports for school. To get a term paper done, i would have to email the report half way done to myself and then continue the report on another computer.
Another thing, as many have had experience with this, the battery is horrible. If i would move this laptop a couple of times around the house, the power cord would stop charging. I've had my father take it in for repairs too many times. At least once every month. And it just got back for repairs on the battery cord now it is not booting up. This computer is unreliable and useless. On thing its good for is internet access. Don't waste your money. Go buy a mac.
So sad toshiba markets this as a computer

Toshiba never should have made this computer, the internals are like dust magnets. This computer must be disassembled every 4 months and thoroughly cleaned. Further the female pieces will die on you. You have to re-solder the ac input or else the toshiba will die. Toshiba fails. They owe everybody they ripped off with this product an apology. I've failed classes because of toshiba and it's two month long tech support happening every 5 months. I finally just broke the warranty.
Because of this product, toshiba has become a verb amongst myself and my friends. When an appliance or piece of technology functions aparently it is said to have toshibaed.
Having used this product I will most certainly never buy another product with the name Toshiba on it again in my life.

I´m so sorry to read those bad comments. They really have a bad luck with those particular Toshiba pieces.
In my experience and use (multimedia & web designer) I´ve found that until this time (2007) my lap is the fastest compared with laps of my partners (vaio 2007 models, hp 2006 models, even power mac 2007) testing with Adobe Bridge and Photoshop.
I haven´t had any problem and needed support.
At this time I wouldn´t buy other laptop until they bring best procesaors (than their core duos)
Miserable

Can I give this a 0 out of 10? Such a waste. Overheats every day, I need to vacuum out the fans frequently. USB port on the right side doesn't work any more. Customer service is useless. I can't begin to describe how much work I have lost because it shuts down. Never, ever going to buy another Toshiba product again in my life...they have wasted my time, money, and quite frankly have proved to me that they are a terrible company that sold a faulty product and won't try to win the customers back with any compensation, other than 50 dollar credit to spend on their website. What am I supposed to buy at toshiba.com with $50? A new mouse to go with my computer that doesn't work? Please.

HORRIBLE is being too nice

Time to start shopping elsewhere for a laptop!
