I've owned this system for a year now, and have nothing but good things to say about it. I bought this model in part because of the "Front Stage Surround" feature and have not been disappointed. The speakers can be mounted on the sides, of course, if you have the inclination to do so. For me, this system fit the bill both economically and practically, and comes with a 5-disc changer that plays everything from DVDs to SACDs. It's great. Everything has worked perfectly from day 1 to this day. It's easy to set up. The sound is excellent, although admittedly, I do not have much experience with other higher end systems. But the sound "kicks" just fine and is crytal clear, and when the satellite speakers are pointed outward toward the side walls, you'd almost swear you're getting true "surround" sound....and I LOVE that the disc changer always "remembers" where you left off...ANY disc. We have two little ones, so we're constantly popping DVDs in and out of this unit.....but it still remembers exactly where you left off (the ones you do not remove, that is).

anyway, I couldn't be happier. For $279 delivered to the door (Internet store), you can't go wrong, imo. Top quality at a very affordable price.
