GARBAGE!

Will not play all five discs unless you manually tell it to "skip disc" after each disc has finished. It is designed that way, and they won't refund my money or make any attempt to "make it right".

This is confirmed by calling the same customer service number as the one you order the firmware upgrade from, see below. I spoke to Michael Spade, a supervisor.

Quote from web site: "The affected serial numbers are VE14500001 to VE14507000 and VE14600001 to VE14603037, which can be located on the rear panel of the machine. If your player falls within the range, please call 1-800-631-3811 for details on how to arrange for the upgrade disc."

Noone at the so-called "customer service" center could tell me WHAT the firmware upgrade was supposed to fix--just that it was the result of a lawsuit in (I think) New Jersey. As of 20 Apr 05, they aren't even sending out the discs yet!

Pathetic.
