wEak-MACHINES

I purchased my T2200 model in October of 2002, and I'm still using it daily, it served me well. I agree with the last reply that it is somewhat tricky to upgrade video cards, from the onboard into a new AGP card. Otherwise, the onboard video card is still decent, but you can't expect high-performance gaming card on a stock e-machines, you'd have to upgrade cards on any system unless you pay top dollar. The funny part is that my old card Nvidia Geforce Mx 4 wasn't cutting it for me, but when I took it out, the onboard performed well enough to run World of WarCraft when the Nvidia couldn't. Now I'm running an Nvidia G-Force 6600GT and its just awesome. I've taken this computer to many LAN parties and I take full advantage of the 100GB hd, so for the price I paid when I got this computer, its been a very good value.

a lot of room for improvement

by Bob on Oct 18th, 2004 at 4:27 PM:

When I first purchased this computer it had a defective CD-RW drive and I had to have it replaced otherwise it caused the computer to start up improperly (if it started up at all) and freeze. Once I got a replacement part that problem was solved though.

However as I gained more computer experience I realized that the entire machine needed to be upgraded. Although it says 40X, for some reason the CD-RW drive only performs at 4x. The video card is useless and is nowhere near the current standards for gaming (GAMERS BEWARE) so I had to get a new CD-RW drive and a new video card but then since the video card that it came with it integrated into the motherboard, I had trouble doing that.

The computer works fine if all you want to do is go online with it, but if you're a gamer/computer geek, this machine is disappointing.

EX VALUE; RELIABLE

Has served me well. I like the online program updates (Big Fix?) and the reliability.
