Clean Clear Prints
by Brian Walt on Feb 4th, 2005 at 10:00 AM:
Having seen a friend's results from the HP Photosmart 145, I had to have one. The sales description is accurate and I was printing within 5mins. of opening the box. The salesman wanted us to purchase a device costing twice the amount, which had an LCD display of the pictures. But I prefered the 'Index Card' arrangement where the memory card is inserted into the printer, and the pictures from it are printed out as 'Thumbnails' for viewing.
The results were spectacular, crisp and clear. Better than pictures from a commercial developer, from films. It came with two comprehensive instruction booklets, one for printing direct, and the other for printing from the computer. For printing from the computer it came with two CD's. Also with printer came a power supply for mains use. It is possible to purchase separately a mobile power supply for use in the car. This transforms the 12volts to 15volts suitable for the printer. For simple camera attachment to printer, a cable is required which is not supplied. For easy printing I prefer inserting the memory card, print an Index Card, then choosing the pictures for printing. The LCD display is very easy to understand and pictures can be printed in minutes. After years of disappointing results from home computer printing, I can recommend this HP Photo Printer 145.
