Now slightly outdated. It struggles with a lot of media, but if you look around for cracked firmware, they can be made to write on more media, more reliably.
Ask the company you buy media off which cd/dvd's to use with this drive.

The drive runs warm at all times, even if your PC has been shut down for several days.
