WORST COMPUTER EVER!!

by Bob on Oct 22nd, 2008 at 10:29 AM:

I hate this computer after 2 years it started breaking down and I had to get it fixed twice! It is a really BAD product and after 3 years it won't even turn on! I beg you don't get dell. I got an HP and it was well worth its money!

Audio Problem

by Steve on Feb 20th, 2008 at 12:15 PM:

Try Downloading the SoundMAX Digital Audio Driver from Dell.com I had to download all the drivers for my PC and it was not fun. I think when you re-install Windows, if you don't have the Dell CD, and then you can't pre-install the drivers.

Otherwise great system until you try to upgrade your IDE drives. Problems with setting primary and secondary. Screws are hidden and taking the case off is a PAIN!

Great Machine - easily rebuilt

by John on Sep 12th, 2007 at 10:43 AM:

Got my machine free. Upgraded the processor to 2.4 from 1.8, put in a new hard drive and power supply. It cost me $50 and almost every thing works great. I'm having a problem with SoundMax currently but the video, modem, drives, and networking are fine. Easy to upgrade and all but the audio works fine.

I dont know what you are complaining about?????

This is a great system. I received this system for free because the previous owner said "its too slow". $80 (or so) too high tech vendors for a gig of ram, and I have never had a problem. Right now I am running a virus scan, windows media player, and outlook express, as well as a skype video call, along with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. And I cannot tell that it is running at all slow. And I do this all day. Has never crashed on me. And I would not trade it for another system. So if you ask me this is a great system. If you want a gaming system, then spend the extra money and buy it, but for general multitasking, this is a great system. On the off side I just spent the last 5 hours installing, and reinstalling a printer on a brand new XPS, with Vista. This is a great platform that is easy to upgrade, IF YOU TRY!

Horrible

by Jack on Jun 24th, 2007 at 6:26 PM:

This computer is by far one of the crappiest computers for gaming. With its 256mb of ram and its 27.25gb of hard drive its crap. It cant support much so I wouldn't advise anyone to get it. However it is a good computer if you just use it to check email do homework etc.
