Great once you get it working!

I *almost* took the Orbit back to the store for a refund! First, during installation on my machine I copped an Error 1931, something about not being able to update msvcp60.dll because it was protected by Windows. Then after rebooting, Windows wouldn't detect the webcam - no warning in the accompanying documentation about Windows might take several MINUTES to even detect the thing! Also, it was a bit hard to tell if the 9" stand was actually slotted into the base properly. However, the webcam eventually did get detected in the end and so far that 1931 error doesn't seem to be causing any problems. It now works beautifully and it is an eye-catching feature on my computer desk.
Average quality...bad software...
by Mattie on Apr 21st, 2004 at 9:01 PM:
The overall quality of this webcam is just "acceptable". The software come with this webcam is limited and doesn't allow you to remote control the webcam to pan or tilt. Why do you need to control it via the software at home while you can do it by using your hand? The stability of the webcam is annoying too. It also can be detected by the software... I would request Logitech to upgrade the firmware or software of this webcam to make it worth USD$1xx

It is cool looking, but would be much cooler if it actually worked.
