Shortcoming?

by AJM on Oct 26th, 2005 at 6:03 PM:

Keep in mind that Winamp track advance does not have to be Alt+P, and N - you can set up plugins in Winamp to make Volume increase something like Winkey+8 - this is something the powermate _could_ do.

Functionality shortcomings...

by Tom Hebert on Sep 13th, 2004 at 10:32 AM:

It has a significant blemish re:functionality.

You can only map a single keystroke to a given Powermate function (you can't assign multiple keystrokes to an action).

As an example, For Winamp, I'd like to have the 'long click' defined as Alt + P, and N. This sequence would let me advance to the next song. It never occured to me that such a basic capability would not be there, but it's been confirmed by Griffin Tech support.

This shortcoming removes 80% of the average application's functionality from the Powermate.

It's basically a blinking volume control.
