Hardware OK, Software not so much

by New2CD-RW on Aug 6th, 2005 at 1:42 PM:

The hardware itself seems to be fine, but I couldn't get the included "HeartBurn Pro" software to make a simple data disc, even after slowing down burn and adding a simulated burn. It hangs if you try it full speed, and even when at slower speeds it finishes, the resulting CD is unreadable in any drive I tried (including the one that made it).

I downloaded a software update (after having to register my email address with Iomega, which frustrated me), and it didn't work on my software, it said "your current installation is not valid".

Given the frustration of the software and the nosiness of Iomega, I think I'll look for other options in the future. For now, I have to find some decent software so I can make data CD's!
