Excellent speakers & a great price!
by Kevin on Mar 3rd, 2004 at 12:28 PM:
I have the all the Epic 80 sans the subwoofer (SVS 16-46CS+ instead). This system is terrific, when my friends come over, they love to hear it play.
I always feel immersed in the movie (as long as it is a good one) and now that I have SACD & DVD-A, Pink Floyd's DSOFM and BlueMan Group's Audio sound incredible.
The only drawback for me is some of the more high end treble bits can get a bit shrill when played extremely loud, due to the titanium tweeters.
Other than that small issue, these speakers are very focused and play very clean.

A Winner 100 Hours Out of The Box!
by Dr. Venkmann on Aug 13th, 2009 at 10:24 AM:
They do need some time to run-in however and do not sound near their best until 80 to 100 hours. I simply have them face one another 6 inches apart and throw a blanket over them then put pink noise into them at a comfortable volume for 12 hours a day while I am at the office and play music through them at home. In a week you can hear the real spirit of these wonderful speakers.
They can be embarrassingly good for you but can bring out a smattering of jealousy in friends with more expensive speakers that do not sound as good. Be forewarned.
