If you want a "universal" player — one that plays DVDs, CDs, SACDs, and DVD-Audio discs — with breakout performance at a price that won't break the bank, consider Denon's DVD-2200. It includes many of the high-resolution picture and sound capabilities of Denon's justly acclaimed DVD-2900, but for hundreds less.
