Most all-in-one printers make too many compromises; the Artisan 800 makes almost none—and it's exceptional at printing photos


Highs: Excellent photo printer; supports wired or wireless Ethernet; good quality scanner; useful touch-screen interface

Lows: Not the best inkjet document printer; some plastic parts are flimsy; requires expensive ink

When a device tries to be all things to all people, it usually winds up satisfying no one.
