Summary
DESIGNER
Charles and Ray Eames
A distinctive profile. A taut seat sling. Soft, thick cushions. In concert, they yield the Eames soft pad chair. Handsome and versatile, the soft pad chair may be used successfully in a variety of home and office settings. In the dining area, for example, each member of the family can adjust the height and angle of the chair to his or her preference. The chair evolved from the Eames aluminum group - furniture originally developed for a private residence designed by Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard. With the addition of 2 inch-thick seat cushions, the soft pad chair retains the style of the earlier group, but gains significant comfort.
