Audioengine recently announced the little brother to the A5, the A2 desktop speaker set. The A2 speakers are roughly half the size of the A5 and they don't put out quite as much power, but they seem to have just as much intensity per cubic inch as the A5's. “They will make you appreciate music in a way that you never have before. If all you care about is overpowering bass, then these are NOT for you. The bass is musical, not just loud thumps. As the review says, the bass is a little too thick without an EQ....” More...

“I just bought these over a less-expensive, larger pair from M-Audio. They are being used as designed: as desktop computer speakers. They sound great! I wonder how they would sound with the bass going to AudioEngine's subwoofer...may be hard to beat that...” More...
