The Zire 31 continues palmOne's tradition of breaking new ground in the low-end market. While technically a handheld, perhaps the best way to describe the Zire 31 is the cheapest color MP3 player with PIM support ever. While the screen is not the most impressive, it is adequate, and the inclusion of palmOne's higher-end PIM suite on a low-price handheld is most welcome, as is the inclusion of an SDIO card slot at this price range. The only major problem is the measly battery life, which limits its usefulness as an audio player. Otherwise, the Zire 31 hits its mark.
