Our favorite entry-level audiophile headphones for both portable and home use are the Grado SR60. These headphones deliver sparkling highs, good mids, and, depending on the power source, solid bass. They are reliable and well constructed, and come with comfy earpads¿you can also try the "large" pads for a cheap sonic improvement. The SR60 just may be the best all-around headphone. If you have a portable CD player, do yourself a favor and get a pair of the Grado SR60.
