Mustek Ality PF-T80R Digital Photo Frame

May 6th, 2007 | by Nino Marchetti

Mustek is not a name you hear every day in the consumer electronics space. Digital picture frames aren't exactly popular consumer electronics either. Put the two together though and you actually have a digital picture frame, developed by Hong Kong-based technology company Ality, which looks like it could seriously draw some buyers when it hits retail later this month.

The Mustek Ality PF-T80R Digital Photo Frame has an eight-inch active matrix TFT color display which offers up an impressive 800 x 600 resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio and a mirror-like surface. The frame also has a stylish look about it complete with touch-sensitive buttons which seem to blend smoothly into the black frontal finish.

Built into the PF-T80R is 256MB of memory to store BMP and JPEG digital images. This memory can be expanded upon via a memory card slot which supports MMC, SD, CF, MS and MS Pro memory card formats. Photos can be transferred into the digital picture frame’s memory via a USB 2.0 connection to a computer.

Built-in speakers allow you to play back WAV files in what we assume is a way to offer a music slideshow feature. Photo playback can be scheduled and a built-in rechargeable battery offers the ability to take your frame with you without needing the included AC adapter.

Other features of the PF-T80R include a weight of 2.2 pounds, A/V output, a remote control, clock and calendar display and included accessories such as USB and A/V cables. This digital picture frame is set to price at around $300 USD when it goes on sale.
